Texas Hold'Em Rules to Keep You in the Game

Nothing is as irritating and frustrating when you get kicked out of a game simply because of a technicality. Don't let that happen to you. Read and learn from our free Texas hold'em rules and we guarantee that you'll be playing till the very end of the game!

Texas Hold'Em Rule #1 - Don't Cheat. There's only one thing as frustrating as going bankrupt and that's when you get caught cheating. Cheating is a never good thing and it will be very embarrassing when you do get caught doing so.

Listen and follow this rule if you don't want to be banned from poker tables.

Texas Hold'Em Rule #2 - Don't Avoid the Blinds Again, this is just like cheating. Leaving the table just when you're the next one to post the small or big blind is not fair to the other players. And quite frankly, it's not fair to yourself.

Texas Hold'Em Rule #3 - Acting Out of Turn Imagine you're waiting in line to purchase the near-sold-out-tickets to a (now defunct) Spice Girls concert and someone deliberately tries to sneak into the middle of the line. That's guaranteed to make you lose your temper, right? That's how other players will react as well if you act out of turn deliberately.

Texas Hold'Em Rule #4 - Betting in No-Limit Games Always remember that your bet in either a no-limit or pot limit game must be at the very least equal to the big blind.

Texas Hold'Em Rule #5 - Raising in No-Limit Games When raising in a no-limit game, your raise must be at the very least equal to the bet posted by the previous player.

Texas Hold'Em Rule #6 - Check-Raising The act of check-raising is allowed but it must not be done often because it tends to get a few players in an irritable mood and when you need to bluff later they won't buy into it.

Texas Hold'Em Rule #7 - Rabbit Hunting No peeking at discarded cards! Again, it's just like cheating. When you peek at the discarded cards of other players, you'll have an unfair advantage because you could deduce how they play poker.

Texas Hold'Em Rule #8 - Say What You Mean In poker, verbal declarations of bets, checks or raises are binding.

Texas Hold'Em Rule #9 - Words Speak Louder than Actions In poker, at least.

Texas Hold'Em Rule #10 - All-In When you go all-in, you're required to reveal your hand in the showdown.

Texas Hold'Em Rule #11 - Enjoy Nobody wishes to play with a nasty-tempered poker player!

  • Texas Hold 'Em Poker Positioning

Poker strategies work best when they are built on a foundation---one's positioning. Positioning is very crucial for a poker win. When there's good positioning and the player knows where to stand and from where to start launching an attack, then a game session will more likely work in one's favor.
